Introducing Our Newest Adventurer!

Introducing our newest Nat Out West adventurer, Arnold Palmer, Arnie, for short! Arnold joined our family on June 1st, 2025. You may have noticed that I've been relatively quiet on the blog lately. Turns out this little furball can keep Nate and me pretty busy!

Arnie is excited to join Nat Out West as a local correspondent specializing in neighborhood walks and dog-friendly breweries. He will also be our Chief Snuggle Officer (CSO).

As a mini dachshund, Arnie loves exploring the outdoors- as long as it isn't raining. While outside, he enjoys collecting sticks, chasing leaves, and barking at the neighborhood wildlife (animals and humans included). In the winter, he has also taken to digging in the snow piles, most taller than he is.

In these first few months, Arnold has:

  • Met loads of furry friends; whether it be on walks around our block, attending his puppy socialization classes, or getting introduced to our friends' dogs, we can all agree that Arnie is happiest when he's around other dogs.

  • Became a patio pup at several local breweries and restaurants. He's practically a local at Bear Cave Brewing in Hopkins now.

  • Taken his first road trip to Nebraska for a family get-together in early August. Although he had a small bout with car sickness, he took it like a champ.

  • Gone on walks all throughout the Twin Cities; highlights include Lake Harriet in Minneapolis, Hyland Park in Bloomington, and Round Lake Park in Eden Prairie.

We are so excited to have him join us on our many adventures!
